And we are ending another day. Tomorrow Matthew will be 2 weeks old and his gestational age will be 35 weeks. Typically, by around 35 weeks babies start staying awake longer and start eating better getting them closer to going home.
Today, Matthew did really good. For his morning feeding, the nurse was able to get him to nipple 20 ml out of 47ml from the bottle. When Daddy and I got there for his 2 PM feeding, we were able to get him to take the entire bottle! At his 8pm feeding we were able to get him to eat all but 15 ml (so he took in 35 ml) Matthew's feedings are about 1 1/2 ounces every 3 hours. As soon as he can go 24 hours taking at least 2 feeds by bottle per shift, he'll be able to go home. Hopefully, he'll continue to improve every day!
Matthew is also up to 5 pounds 6 ounces.
