I can't stop eating!!

Seriously, I won't be 6 months pregnant until Sunday, but I've already gained nearly 35 pounds. I gained a total of 25 with Kaitlyn eating whatever I wanted.

I didn't realize I was eating that much until today. I ordered pizza for lunch as a treat for Kaitlyn being so good. I ate a small Gourmet Veggie and half a small cheese and am tempted to top it off with some ice cream... My legs are what's getting big. I think it's mostly water weight, but my ankles are bigger than they've ever been, my thighs are making it what's hard to wear normal jeans and I have handles on my back. Sexy right?

It's funny, with Kaitlyn, I wanted to gain a bunch of weight so I could join the "I'm on a diet" crowd and see what all the hoopla is about and prove that I could do it. Now... it might be a reality

My doctor has no concern at all with the weight gain. He wanted me to gain 30 pounds before I got pregnant and I didn't. I actually think I lost a pound or so.

So, yay me! I'm going to join the normal crowd, even if it is just during pregnancy!

Last week we had an ultra sound to see how little Matthew is doing! He has grown so much and is starting to fill in with some fat and tissue! At this ultra sound we were able to see the three vessel cord so we will be discussing that with our doctor on June 6! He is going to be so cute and his nose looks just like Kaitlyn's did!

It was funny, during the ultra sound, I asked them to verify sex since Matthew hasn't been cooperative in the last 2 ultra sounds. Well, Matthew wasn't being cooperative this time either. He must be shy hee hee. So, two techs thought it was a girl. They were ready to call it and had a third tech come over to confirm. Right as the third tech was about to say girl, Matthew displayed the goods and verified the sex for us!

This weekend was so busy too! We spent a lot of time with both my family and Dusty's family. We had some yummy food at Dusty's parent's Friday night and met Jamie and Joel's new baby Mason. Mason is the cutest dog you will ever see! He looks just like the puppy in the cottenelle commercials!

Saturday we went to Aunt Sue and Uncle Jim's for a BBQ where my parents were too. We ate and Kaitlyn swam and played in the pool. She might be in need of some swimming lessons this year!

Sunday we went and did some shopping with Dusty's parents. Matthew and Kaitlyn got some cute new outfits before we headed to my parent's house where Christina and Brian already were! We ended up getting wrapped up in Soprano's and staying way late.

Monday we went to the coutny Fair at Cal Expo! Kaitlyn, Camaryn and Dusty had a blast! You should have seen all the stuff Dusty won! He was might proud of himself.

Well, it's been a while since an update so here it goes :)

I am now 22 weeks and 1 day pregnant, which is over the halfway point, yay!! I've already gained 25 pounds and about 14 inches around my belly. We don't get to feel Matthew kick too much. Instead of having a standard 3 vessel cord he only has 2 vessels and so he is small for gestational age. So, we run a risk of having him early, but in the meantime I have an awesome doctor who is watching him very carefully to make sure he's getting everything he needs to grow.

Last Monday, we went in for a fetal echogram of the heart. It was pretty neat. We saw every aspect of the heart that there is to see at this age. Everything looked great and we'll go back mid-July to check things out again.

Kaitlyn is doing wonderful in Speech Therapy. She's made an incredible amount of progress in the last 2 weeks. One of her biggest hurdles before had been adding the sounds to ends of words like "eat, bus, ouch" and so on. She's mastered that. She does it on her own about 95% of the time. Her therapist believes she'll surpass what is normal for her age in the next 2-3 months.

We got Kaitlyn enrolled in school. If all goes well and they waive the income limits for us (we make too much, but since Kaitlyn has an expressive speech delay they may waive it) she'll start this fall. She'll be in preschool 5 days a week, 4 hours a day! That seems like such a long time at such a young age. I figure, we'll take it one day at a time and then determine if it's the best course of action for her and for us.

We got a "new to me" car! Well, it's a minivan. It's perfect for us. Kaitlyn's long legs no longer kick the seat in front of her, I don't have to struggle to get her in her car seat because there's enough room and she loves, I mean LOVES, having her own window to look out of. She's constantly saying "What's that" to everything we pass by. Plus, I LOVE not having to get up with the son to take Dusty to work on the days I need a car. Now, we'll have plenty of room with Matthew's car seat and since the middle row is captain chairs, they can be close without being able to touch each other!

We are trying to plan the next couple of months out. We have so many things we want to do and we need to get Matthew's room in order.

In June we need to pick a couple of days to go to Monterey so David can do my Maternity pictures on the beach (thanks again). We are also planning a trip to Great America for the last weekend of the month. On top of that, throw in Father's Day, My birthday, Christy's birthday and Jamie's birthday. In July we have the fourth, My mom's birthday, Christina's birthday and Dusty's dad's birthday plus the baby shower. We also promised Kaitlyn another trip to Discovery Kingdom to see Thomas and I don't really want to go in August, it'll be so hot and I'll be so big haha.

I really wanted Matthew's room ready by the end of June, but even with everyone who has offered to help, I just don't see how that's going to happen :(

This is has been a LONG week.

First of all, it's the first week of the month, which means rent time, which means that people are at your door all hours of the day and night with silly requests that they *think* might get them out of their rent. You know the "I think my paint is peeling on the upper right corner of my bathroom ceiling so I want to withhold rent until it's painted" Then the explanation of "legally, that isn't grounds to withold rent, but we'll gladly fix that tomorrow morning, would you like us to pick up your rent then or do you want to drop it off?"

Awww, the joys of it all.

Tuesday morning, Kaitlyn went and got the TB shot to be tested for Tuberculosis. The nurse certainly wasn't the most gentle of creatures and Kaitlyn ended up in a flood of tears and my ears admist blood curdling screams for help.

Tuesday afternoon we went car shopping without much luck. Evidently, I'm too picky haha. I like to think of it as I just know what I want. Kaitlyn was so good that she earned a Big Kid's Meal from Burger King. That gave her a fun Spiderman toy which she immediatly fell in love with. I think I actually heard her say "Sponge Bob who" at one point!

Wednesday morning Kaitlyn decided that she didn't want diapers, she only wanted panties. Actually, she only wanted Cinderella panties. The problem was, she didn't want to stop playing long enough to go pee pee on the potty. After three pairs and three cleanings in an hour, I told her "panties all gone for today" and we went back to diapers. When she's ready to go potty on the toilet, we'll talk ;)

On Thursday, we went back to the doctor's office. Kaitlyn had her TB test read, which was of course negative and we found out that she needed a heel prick to finish her medical evaluation for pre-school. Great, another needle right? Kaitlyn recognized the nurse and started screaming and clawing up me to get away! It was no bueno my friends.

As soon as we finished up there, we headed to the preschool. Kaitlyn was so excited. She made friends while I filled out 45 minutes of paperwork.

We went back to work for a little while and Kaitlyn helped me do laundry. She played with a little boy in the complex and made sure Archie didn't cry. She was a lot of help!

Thursday night, we went to Dusty's parents for a little while. Kaitlyn played with Camaryn and then we came home. That was followed with more laundry and bed making and some picking up.

This morning, we went back to the doctor (A vaccine was given at the wrong time and she needs it for school) where Kaitlyn was far from a happy camper. We then ran by Dusty's parents to pick up some keys before they went out of town.

Today Kaitlyn has speech therapy, we have to go back by the school, we are going to a dinner at Dusty's bosses house and we have to pack.

We are leaving at 9 tomorrow for a night of camping! It should be a lot of fun!

On Monday we are having an ultra sound and we should get some 3-D pictures! Hopefully Matthew's developed some more fat tissue in his face so they'll be really cute!

Have a great weekend everyone!

05/02/07

Well, on Sunday I officially hit the half way point of my pregnancy. I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by in comparison with my first pregnancy! Then, it felt like time just dragged by and now I worry that time is going by so fast that we'll never be ready in time for his arrival.

This pregnancy, so far, as been so much easier physically than when I was pregnant with little miss Kaitlyn. I wasn't nearly as sick for nearly as long, I haven't had that dreadful hip pain, and I've had more energy. I think at least part of it has been because I don't have time for any of that, Kaitlyn definatly keeps me on my toes lol!

We still have to do EVERYTHING to Matthew's room. I mean, we still have to move the computer out, move Dusty's stuff out (you know the electronic stuff he hasn't unpacked since the first time we moved in together, what, 5 years ago?), paint, put furniture together, decorate, new closet doors and all of that goodness. I REALLY wanted it done by the end of May, but with all that's going on this month, I just don't see that happening.

Friday, Spiderman 3 is coming out. Dusty is really excited and with Spiderman's past he has taken the day off of work. He decided not to this time since he might need those days for something else, but we do plan on seeing it opening night (how foolish are we?)

We are going camping this weekend. We'll be joining my parents, Christina, Samantha, David, and his parents for a weekend of fun in the sun. Just hope for beautiful weather that isn't too hot, just warm enough to give me a bit of a tan hee hee.

Next weekend is Mother's Day weekend. I have an Owner's visit scheduled on Saturday, oh joy. Then on Sunday we are going to see our beauty queen Camaryn compete in the National Pageant.

The following weekend, we are going to see Elmo live in San Jose! We have floor tickets and I still need to start and finish Kaitlyn and McKenzie's outifts. Hopefully I can start on them this week.

That pretty much wraps up our May haha. So, I might have to do some creative planning if I want any of Matthew's room done this month. Keep your finger's crossed for me.

In 5 short days, it'll be the 8 year anniversary of when Dusty asked me if I wanted to be his girlfriend. It's hard to believe that so much time has passed in what feels like a heart beat.
