The pictures I'll treasure for a lifetime

Matthew was nearly 10 weeks old the first time we had his pictures done.  With him being a preemie, and it being cold and flu season, I wasn't thrilled about taking him to the mall to have them done and for some reason the thought of a "real" photographer, never crossed my mind.  I was still having all of Kaitlyn's done at JC Penney's and Picture People and Sears at this point.  So, on October 12, 2007, I took Kaitlyn and Matthew to the mall to have their pictures done.  He cried the whole time.  :(  I didn't get a single professional picture of them together.  I always figured we'd have more time and we had snapshots to remember, but it just isn't the same.

I swore I wouldn't repeat that problem again.  I value pictures more than most other material items.  Much more so than just about anything I could or would buy myself and pictures are something that you don't outgrow, do not go out of style and that you ever regret having too many of.

We are fortunate to know an amazing photographer, Cari Lyn, who specializes in newborn and children photographs.  It was well worth the splurge, the drive to El Dorado Hills 10 days after a cesarean and resulted in pictures I will always treasure.  I am so happy with them.  I am so happy to have real photographs of them together, I'm thrilled that she was able to capture the innocence and sweetness of Samantha's newness, the beauty and personality of Kaitlyn, and the love that the sisters already overwhelmingly feel for one another.  Watching the slideshow she created (email if you'd like to see it and I can send you the link, it's available for another couple days) brought tears to my eyes.

Aren't they amazing??
