Our biggest challenge with Kaitlyn is that she does not like to clean her room. A 5 min pick up job will literally take HOURS, buckets of tears, high decibels of screaming and a migraine for mommy. It's awful. We are constantly on her about her room in hopes that if she keeps it cleaned up, then it will be less of a hassle if she just keeps it clean. Instead, it gets worse.
We took the suggestion to going to Country Club Mall, and there was literally no one there. We saw only 2 other customers in the entire mall, and no one at Santa's workshop. It was awesome! From half way down the mall, he waved at Kaitlyn. She was so excited, she insisted we walk faster to get to him. While I worked on getting Samantha out of her stroller, he chatted with Kaitlyn. He started with the standard questions, have you been good? What do you want this year? And then he asked her about her room. She went white. He went on and on about how important it was for little girls and boys to pick up things themselves so their mommies and daddies don't have to do it when they are already so busy, and he said this year, he wasn't taking any toys to anyone who couldn't keep their rooms clean. She just nodded. The girls sat on his lap, we got the picture and we were outta there in less than 15 minutes, including a trip to the bathroom!
When we got to the car, I asked Kaitlyn how he knew about her room. She said it must be his magic crystal ball and promised that her room would stay clean ;) Let's see....
